A Senior Data Engineer to join our compact digital team at Waterleau. As the technical lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the architecture and implementation of data platform and data management solutions that support our water technology projects. You will also serve as a reference within our team, providing guidance and expertise to our data scientist, data engineers and other data savvy end-users.

Responsabilities

• Lead the development from design and architecture to implementation and maintenance, you turn our digital ambitions into reality.

• Collaborate with business owners to understand the engineering needs and translate them into practical and durable solutions. You're able to turn business requirements into pragmatic technical solution and communicate your
  plans to a non-technical audience.

• Provide training & feedback to your colleagues. Participate in code reviews and improve code quality. You ensure a stable and durable delivery of code.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in the Python community.

• As Senior Python Developer, you are our reference when it comes to all things python. Not only for our application developers, but also for other python users like data engineers and power users.

• Mentor junior developers and help them grow their skills. You're responsible for the continuous improvement of your fellow python developers.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of Python programming and experience with web frameworks such as Django or Flask. You have a proven trackrecord in all things python app development.

• Solid experience with cloud-based platforms and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Setting up CI/CD pipelines, linters, automated tests, vulnerability screening and using Infrastructure as Code are your second nature. You have experience balancing managed cloud services with self-hosting solutions, selecting the best approach for each use case.

• Ability to work independently on complex projects. You deconstruct a complex goal in to manageable parts andhelp your colleagues when they are blocked. You're able to track and report progress in an effective and pragmat way.

• Passion for water conservation and sustainability. As a developer, you get the chance to have a significant a positive impact on the world around you. Help solving your colleagues and clients water challenges matter to you.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. You can dive deep into technical issues while maintaining a clear vision of the bigger picture. You are able to find pragmatic solutions without increasing technical debt and the low term consequences of your choices.

• Ability to work in a diverse environment. You are able to work with both in-office and remote colleagues understanding the intricacies of their work. You are proficient in English and can communicate with a variety of nonnative English speakers. An extended knowledge of other languages are always considered as a plus
